A Fraudulent Pumpkin
I may be a city boy but I refuse to be fooled. Someone sent this in and claimed that it is a pumpkin-peanut hybrid called a peanut pumpkin. I may not be a farm boy, but I think it is a cantaloupe or some other melon. Look at the color of the flesh. Besides, I couldn't find any reference to a peanut pumpkin in any of the seed catalogs.
2009 Update: While I originally wrote the above description in 2005, in 2008 I started to see these pumpkin in the patch. Now, they are available many places in my are. Also during that time period many people wrote to me to remind me that I am an idiot.
Thanks for the reminder.
